Jumps and swings

The Canyon Swing and the Stockhorn bungee

The two big jumps near Interlaken: the swing through a gorge and the 134 m bungee from a cable car. How they differ, and which one to pick if you only do one.

Calendar/Canyon Swing and bungee

Two things that last seconds and get talked about for years. Both start from Interlaken. Neither needs a view, though the Stockhorn is better with one.

The Canyon Swing

Not a bungee. You step off a platform over a gorge, free-fall, and then the rope catches you and swings you in a long arc through the canyon. Many people find it scarier than a bungee in anticipation and easier in practice. Operators run it from Interlaken with transport there and back.

The Stockhorn bungee

A 134 m jump from a cable car above Lake Thun, with transfers from Interlaken. It is the bigger commitment of the two: longer to get to, a longer fall, and the full bungee rebound. Book it for a clear day if you want the view of the lake on the way down.
